1. (a) Dholavira

Dholavira, a Harappan-era city was added to the list of World Heritage Sites by United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) on July 27, 2021. The city is located in Gujarat’s Rann of Kutch.

Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa, after months of speculation, resigned from the top post on July 26, 2021. Yediyurappa assured that nobody has pressurized him to resign and that he did it on his own so that someone else can take over as the Chief Minister of Karnataka.

India and Russia will carry out the 12th edition of the Indo-Russia Joint Military Exercise (INDRA) at Volgograd city in Russia in August. The 13-day exercise will start on August 1, 2021.
