1. (d) Delhi

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a complete ban on the storage, sale and bursting of all kinds of firecrackers on September 15, 2021. The Chief Minister said that a complete ban on use of all types of crackers is being imposed like last year in view of the dangerous condition of Delhi’s pollution during Diwali for the last 3 years.

2. (c) Auto sector and drone industry

The Union Cabinet on September 15, 2021, gave its approval to Rs. 26,058 crore production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme for the auto, auto-components and drone industry.

3. (a) Tajikistan 

The 21st meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Heads of State will be held on September 17, 2021, in Dushanbe, Tajikistan in a hybrid format. The President of Tajikistan H E Emomali Rahmon will chair the SCO Summit. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lead the Indian delegation and address the plenary session of the Summit virtually. 

4. (a) Chhattisgarh 

Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel launched ‘Millet Mission’ on September 10, 2021 to make the state millet hub of the country by 2023. The mission aims to increase the yield of millets like Kodo, Kutki and Ragi in view of increasing demand in both India and abroad. 

5. (a) Tamil Nadu 

The Tamil Nadu Assembly on September 13, 2021, passed a bill that makes the encroachment of properties belonging to religious institutions a cognizable and non-bailable offence.

6. (b) September 15th 

The International Day of Democracy is observed worldwide every year on September 15. The day aims at promoting and upholding the principles of democracy and highlights the significance of equality that can be achieved through a successful form of democracy.

7. (d) Uttarakhand 

Lieutenant General (retd) Gurmit Singh was sworn in as the new Uttarakhand Governor on September 15, 2021. He was administered the oath of office by the Chief Justice of the Uttarakhand High Court Justice RS Chauhan at Raj Bhawan.
